The cryptocurrency platform Gamdom could lose more than $ 4.2 million as a result of hacking hot wallets – digital storage, connected to the Internet for quick payouts. This amount exceeds the company's own estimate, which reported damage by just over $3 million. The discrepancy has not yet been explained, and the investigation revealed an unauthorized connection to one of the servers.

The incident was discovered after a server disk failure, which first looked like a technical malfunction. During the inspection it became clear that the automation server was connected without permission. Gamdom temporarily disabled the platform, stopped the outflow of funds from the wallets and started checks before the resumption of work.

According to the blockchain analyst vxdb, the total losses amounted to $ 4.208 million. About $2.2 million was accounted for by five Ethereum virtual machine-compatible networks, including Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism. About $668 thousand lost about $ 668 thousand in bitcoins, $ 965 thousand in Solana and $ 375 thousand in TRON. The authors of the publication could not independently confirm all transactions.

The reason for the difference between the estimates remains unknown. Gamdom has not yet published a detailed report on what happened, so it is impossible to determine whether it is related to the valuation of the value of assets, the calculation of transactions or the return of part of the funds. Wallets allegedly belonging to intruders track Arkham Intelligence.

Similar incidents affect other cryptocurrency platforms. In September 2026, Duelbits faced alleged compromise of private keys, and the damage was estimated at $5.9-7 million. Hot wallets allow you to quickly process withdrawals, but their constant connection to the platform systems creates additional risks when hijacking servers or credentials.

According to TRM Labs, there were 207 cryptocurrency attacks in the first half of 2026 with cumulative damage of $972 million. At the same time, about 76% of the stolen funds were spent on compromise of infrastructure and operating systems.

To reduce risk, platforms need to strengthen server protection and access to wallets, as well as check fund management systems. Gamdom will not only deal with the losses, but also to confirm that the measures taken will prevent repeated hacking.
